Pat Banks Watercolor |
| Pat Banks lives and works
in northern Madison County, Kentucky. She and her husband built
their home and studio on a ridge overlooking the Kentucky River
Valley. She feels a special connection with this place; it inspires
her work and nourishes her creative spirit.
Pat works primarily with watercolor. She loves the challenge,
versatility and spontaneity of the medium. Her subjects range
from portraits and landscapes to waterscapes, florals, and animals.
"I love the process of discovery, of slowing the world
down, taking the time to see in a new and wondrous way."
She has been an exchange artist
in Quito, Equador, and in Yamanashi, Japan. Pat is also an active
workshop instructor and an artist in-residence at several schools
in the region.
"My creative spirit is nurtured by the landscape of my
home. The mists in the valley, the light filtering through the
forest, the water shimmering in the currents of the Kentucky
River and the blossoms in the garden and field, serve to restore
me and inspire my work."
