Davidson's
Studio is located on the old Wilderness Trail blazed by Daniel
Boone and his men. This road went from Cumberland Gap to Boonesborough
and was traveled by soldiers during the Civil War and possibly
the War of 1812 also. Stagecoach Inns were located along this
route, providing food and lodging for travelers and their
horses. Davidson, a descendent of one of Boone's men, and
her husband, Armel, live on a farm on this historic scenic
route. She was born here, the fourth of five children of Henry
C. and Addie (Dooley) Martin, in one of the renovated log
structures that once was used as a stagecoach inn. Having
had no formal art education, she attributes any success that
may be achieved to a God-given talent. She has said, "If my
work brings a smile or a bit of enjoyment to its viewers,
my goal has been accomplished. To me, art is more than canvas,
paint and brushes, it is something I feel inside with great
urgency to express on canvas to be shared with others."She
is troubled by the crime, violence and hatred in our world
today and says these cannot come from hearts filled with the
love of God.
"We can feed and nourish
our body. We can educate our mind. But only the love of God
can make us kind."--mmd
Jesus
answered..."Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man
be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God. John 3-3.
